RESEÑA: BOOKLOVER (VINO & VERITAS #6) - J. E. BIRK

Booklover | J. E. Birk | Romance, new auldt, lgbtiq+ | Marzo 2021 | Heart Eyes Press LLC | 6/19 | 250 páginas |

Two guys meet over a stack of romance novels. Soon they're turning pages late into the night...

Jamie Morin’s college GPA drops every time a cow breaks through a fence, but he’s determined to get his degree and keep his parents’ Vermont dairy farm afloat. He’d rather be reading than milking, but he can’t let his family down…not the way his brother did. So the last thing he needs is distraction in the form of an irresistible bookseller with a mysterious backstory.

Briar Nord has a lifetime of experience proving that happily-ever-afters only happen in his favorite books. But his luck might be changing. He’s got a great job at a bookstore, and he lives in a city that puts maple syrup on everything. But Briar knows not to trust anything or anyone. And that includes a gorgeous farm boy with soulful eyes and too many obligations.

When Jamie joins Briar’s romance novel book club, they both feel an instant connection. Soon they’re turning pages long into the night. But Briar’s past was bound to catch up with him. Sometimes, though, it takes two heroes to write a new ending . . .

RESEÑA: ALONG A BRETON SHORE - ARLEM HAWKS

Along a breton shore | Arlem Hawks | Ficción histórica, romance | Junio 2023
 | Shadow Mountain | Autoconclusivo | 368 páginas |

A soldier and a young woman, on opposite sides of the revolution, must run for their lives across a war-torn France in this gripping novel of friendship, love, and survival.

France, 1794

Maxence Étienne, a soldier for the République, believes fiercely in the revolution that is bringing liberty to France. But even though the monarchy has fallen and Maxence is part of a great cause, he is still searching for a place to belong.

Armelle Bernard is a young woman from Breton whose father was sentenced to death for hiding counterrevolutionaries. She decides to confront the priest who betrayed her father, and as the conflict escalates, she herself is ordered to be executed—an order to be carried out by Maxence.

Maxence has seen his share of violence and bloodshed, but he also carries a tragic secret and can’t bring himself to carry out his assignment. In allowing Armelle to escape, he is forced to combat a fellow soldier, who dies in the struggle.

Though Armelle and Maxence are strangers and on opposite sides of the revolution, they find themselves united as fugitives of the new republic. Now they must find a way to trust each other as they search for a path to peace, and to freedom.

WRAP UP || ABRIL, MAYO, JUNIO

HOLA!!

TBR || JUNIO (Gracias a Goodreads)

Hola!!

RESEÑA: MY [NOT SO] SLUTTY PROFESSOR - D. K. SUTTON

My [not so] slutty professor | D. K. Sutton | Romance, lgbtiq, new adult | Mayo 2021
 | Autopublicado | 1/4 | 246 páginas |

Maddie

I’m a sucker for nerds. So a biology professor who wears geeky ties and doesn’t realize how hot he is, puts every part of my body on high alert. It also means I’m failing his class. There’s only one way to get him out of my head so I can focus. Seduce him.

Turns out that boyish innocence isn’t an act, and while Dr. Reid Emerson is a genius, there are many things he’s never learned. His eagerness to catch up takes my breath away. Will he let me be the one to teach him?

Reid

Maddie Evans reminds me of every popular guy I’ve ever known: charming, persuasive, and used to getting exactly what he wants. But there’s a part of me—a part tired of being the only inexperienced person on campus—that doesn’t care. A flash of skin during our study sessions sparks a fire I can’t put out. I want Maddie. And I want him to teach me…everything.

We strike a deal that has me questioning my sanity, my ethics, and everything I ever believed in. I can’t resist him but being together is risky. Maddie could lose his spot in grad school, and I could lose the thing that keeps me going every day. Teaching.

Is this experiment doomed to fail or together can we pass the ultimate test of love and sacrifice?
